Joyful Mysteries (Monday & Saturday) 1st Joyful Mystery (The Annunciation) Fruit of this mystery is Humility. 28 He went in and said to her, 'Rejoice, you who enjoy God's favour! The Lord is with you.'29 She was deeply disturbed by these words and asked herself what this greeting could mean,30 but the angel said to her, 'Mary, do not be afraid; you have won God's favour.31 Look! You are to conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you must name him Jesus. John 2:1-5 3rd Luminous Mystery- (Proclaiming the Kingdom) Fruit of this mystery is Repentance and Trust in God 7 And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand. 8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give. Matthew 10:7,8 4th Luminous Mystery- (The Transfiguration) Fruit of this mystery is Desire for Holiness 29 And as he prayed, the fashion of his countenance was altered, and his raiment was white and glistering.30 And, behold, there talked with him two men, which were Moses and Elias:31 Who appeared in glory, and spake of his decease which he should accomplish at Jerusalem. Sorrowful Mysteries (Tuesday & Friday) 1st Sorrowful Mystery (The Agony in the Garden) Fruit of this mystery is Sorrow for Sin 44 And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.Luke 22:44 2nd Sorrowful Mystery (The Scourging at the Pillar) Fruit of this mystery is Purity 39 But ye have a custom, that I should release unto you one at the passover: will ye therefore that I release unto you the King of the Jews?40 Then cried they all again, saying, Not this man, but Barabbas. Now Barabbas was a robber.1 Then Pilate therefore took Jesus, and scourged him. Luke 18:39,40 Luke 19:1 3rd Sorrowful Mystery-(Crowning with Thorns) Fruit of this mystery is Courage 28 And they stripped him, and put on him a scarlet robe.29 And when they had platted a crown of thorns, they put it upon his head, and a reed in his right hand: and they bowed the knee before him, and mocked him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews! Matt:27:28,29 4th Sorrowful Mystery- (Carrying of the Cross) Fruit of this mystery is Patience 17 And he bearing his cross went forth into a place called the place of a skull, which is called in the Hebrew Golgotha John 19:17 5th Sorrowful Mystery- ( The Crucifixion) Fruit of this mystery is Perseverance 33 And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified him, and the malefactors, one on the right hand, and the other on the left.34 Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. Mark 16:4-6 2nd Glorious Mystery- ( The Ascension) Fruit of this mystery is Hope 19 So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.20 And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Mark 16:19,20 3rd Glorious Mystery- (Descent of the Holy Spirit) Fruit of this mystery is Love of God 1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.Acts 2:1-4 4th Glorious Mystery- (The Assumption) Fruit of this mystery is Grace of a Happy Death And Mary said: "My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord; my spirit rejoices in God my savior.
